Climbing to the top of the leaning tower of Pisa offers a very beautiful view of the town and is a unique experience. If you buy it on site, the base ticket price will be 18 €. It is absolutely necessary to prepare your itinerary and buy your tickets in advance as it gets closer to the departure date for Italy, especially the tickets to the Leaning Tower of Pisa. To inform you beforehand, tickets are required due to a limited number of availability and a strict schedule for tourists to the Leaning Tower of Pisa. You can find no way around it. So prepare now by reserving your spot in line by buying your tickets online for the Tower. What will happen is that you will receive a voucher via email which you can redeem at the main ticket office in Pisa, once you reserve your tickets. Be sure to print it out, so you can stand directly at the front of the line and pick up your entrance ticket. Make sure you don’t forget to bring a photo ID.

Save Time While You Wait

We advise you to take a walk at the grassy park and visit the other surrounding monuments while you wait for your time slot to climb almost 300 steps to the top of the 55 meter tall bell tower in the Square of Miracles.

  • Although the Cathedral has a free entrance, it requires a ticket. You can use your Leaning Tower of Pisa ticket for the entry.
  • The Camposanto and Baptistery require separate tickets for entry. These two monuments appear stunning from the outside but the inside is even more beguiling. Experience the beautiful acoustics of the Baptistry and the peaceful beauty of the monumental cemetery here.
  • The Sinopie Museum features original drawings and artwork from Camposanto found after the near destruction during World War II and is a quiet escape from the busy Square of Miracles.
  • The Leaning Tower of Pisa or the bell tower of Cathedral is probably one of the most visited landmarks in Tuscany. It is made from stone and sparkling white marble.

Opening Times:

November and February – The Tower of Pisa opens between 09.45 am to 03:00 pm and 05:00 pm. November 1st it is open 09.00 am – 06.00 pm.

December and January – The Tower is open 10.00 am – 05.00 pm.
From December 5 – 8, it is open 09.00 am – 06.30 pm.
From December 21st to January 6th, it is open 10.00 am – 07.00 pm.

March – 

The Tower of Pisa has the following timetable:

Until March 23rd, open 09.00 am – 06.00 pm
From March 23rd – 29th, open between 09.00 – 07.00 pm.
From March 30th, the tower is open 08:30 am – 08:00 pm

April to September – The Tower has the following timetable:
The Leaning Tower is open from 09.00 am – 08.00 pm.
Between June 17th and August 31st, the Tower of Pisa is open 08.30 am – 10.00 pm.
On June 16th, the tower is open 08.30 am – 05.30 pm.

October – The Tower of Pisa is open between 09.00 am – 07.00 pm (with some variations at the start and end of the month that overlap with September/November hours)

Note: For safety reasons, it is not permitted for children below 8 years old to climb up the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Between 8 and 18, all children can climb the Tower with an accompanying adult. There are no reductions available, children have to pay full price to climb the tower.
