“If you’re not alive, San Francisco will bring you to life.” – William Saroyan
You’ll be in a world of public art, street slides, and brisk walks if you just explore San Francisco’s parks, beaches, and outdoor spaces. Don’t miss the opportunity and travel to San Francisco.
Check out this list of the 10 fun outdoor activities to do in this lovely city…
1. The Wave Organ
The Wave Organ sits at the end of the jetty that is seen enclosing the small boat harbor of Marina District. It is part of sound sculpture and part rock garden. Its 2,700sq-ft installation features concrete pipes and a PVC against which the otherworldly groans, rumbles, and whistles of the waves of the sea are seen slapping against.

2. Ocean Beach
Ocean Beach is the longest beach in San Francisco and is also considered its most reliable surf spot. Hundreds of surfers in their wet black suits bob offshore when the swells are right, thereafter waiting for their wave. Make sure to spend a sunny afternoon at this shore.
3. Land’s End
This coastal park is seen offering some of the most varied vistas in a city filled with spectacular views. Explore the adjacent tunnel ruins, wander at the Sutro Baths along the water and watch as the waves crash against the rocks below the mouth of the cave.
4. Angel Island State Park
Take a Blue & Gold Fleet ferry from the city and join the tide at Angel Island. You can also rent a kayak in Sausalito from the Sea Trek and paddle through the three-mile journey by yourself. Explore the human history and wildlife by bike or foot, once on the island.
5. Billy Goat Hill Rope Swing
Get on a 10-metre rope swing and fly out over the city. This rope is hung from a lone eucalyptus tree on top of a rugged and steep slope in Glen Park. At night, you will be offered a breathtaking view of the skyline.
6. Golden Gate Park
The Golden Gate Park offers activities packed into a huge expanse of museums, gardens, and playgrounds. Few of the smaller sites within the park are the Stow Lake, Japanese Tea Garden, the 18-hole disc golf course, a reservoir which is perfect for paddle boating, and the Bison Paddock.
7. Fort Funston
This park is made one of the top hang-gliding launch points in the country due to the 60 metre-high bluffs and steady coastal winds. Make sure to sign up for a course at a nearby shops for a bird’s-eye view of the Bay.
8. Andy Goldsworthy’s Art in The Presidio
Andrew Goldsworthy’s three installations in the Presidio is famously known for its site-specific organic sculptures. It utilizes the area’s Monterey cypress and felled eucalyptus trees for this purpose. Encompassed within the park is the rugged Marshall’s Beach, the cozy Baker Beach, and the forest planted by the army in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
9. Sigmund Stern Recreation Grove
Thousands of San Franciscans are seen spreading out on picnic blankets and listening to live music at the Stern Grove every Sunday during summers. It is the oldest free summer performing arts festival in the country. Don’t forget to blend in. You’ll have lots of fun!
10. Seward Street Slides
On the curved Seward Street Slides, you get to take full advantage of the country’s sloping terrain and zip downhill. The Seward Street Minipark was finally born after years of protests in the late 60s and early 70s.
And that’ll be all folks. So don’t make this beautiful city wait for you too long. Pack your bags and arrive here today!
